PAULA KRAVITZ
Paula Kravitz (San Mateo) is an American painter originally from deep rural Kentucky. Shaped by a life lived across starkly different worlds—Kravitz brings an uncommon sensitivity to contrast and belonging. Her luminous, immersive works hover between abstraction and landscape. Built through layered fields of color, light, and atmosphere, her paintings create spaces that feel expansive yet intimate. Drawing on wetlands, wild growth, and interior terrains, the work holds both beauty and grit, tenderness and resilience. She was trained at the San Francisco Art Institute and studied with the artist and philosopher Leigh Hyams; her work is held in public and private collections in the United States and abroad.
